Intro to Kayaking

Paddle your way to becoming a kayak pro!  This camp is great for first timers and those looking to develop more skills. Explore different locations on the water while learning safety, terminology, tips and tricks!  All required safety equipment, kayaks and transportation included.

 

Ages 8 - 12

Camps run from 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM

(July 2 - July 5) -   $400 @ Banfield Park/Oak Bay Marina

(July 22 - July 26) -   $400 @ Banfield Park/Oak Bay Marina

(Aug 6 - Aug 9) -   $320 @ Banfield Park/Oak Bay Marina

(Aug 12 - Aug 16) -   $400 @ Banfield Park/Gyro Park

Kayaking Essentials

The next step after successfully completing the "Introduction to Kayaking Camp”.  Kayakers will continue to build on their skills including advanced paddling, safety, rescue and trip planning, while exploring new locations on the water.  Each day will be more challenging.  Campers are required to bring a basic wetsuit, however all required safety equipment, kayaks and transportation are included.

Earth Sciences

Environmental themes, science experiments, cooperative games, kayaking, and outdoor adventures. Children become scientists as they explore local ecosystems and discover nature’s wonders down to a microscopic level by visiting the ocean, marshes and wetlands.

Ages 7 - 12
