What to Expect

Some examples of what your camper may experience include:

Geology, Climate and Weather

Campers will start their day with icebreaker games and by making their EcoQuest journals, in which they can track their experiences throughout the week. Campers will then make bracelets representing the water cycle, learn about the rock cycle, make their own "fossils", and have discussions on erosion, tectonic plates and climate change.

Earth's Ecosystems

On Tuesday, or Wednesday, children will begin to grasp an understanding of how earth's different ecosystems interact. Campers will be out hiking for most of the day learning about wildlife and how to prepare for hiking trips.

Paddle Day

On Tuesday, or Wednesday, we will take advantage of our beautiful island location and head to the beach! After a morning of exploration and games, campers will spend the afternoon getting to know our lakes or oceans from a new vantage point- from a kayak! This adventurous day will leave your child smiling.

Amazing Animals

On Thursdays we will expand upon our learning by incorporating some of our favourite west coast animals into the mix! Campers will dissect owl pellets, learn about the food chain, animal anatomy and the web of life.

Plants and Fungi

On the final day of camp the group will dig into the world of plants, fungi and energy systems. Groups will explore the forest through educational games, learn about invasive species, do a scavenger hunt and wrap up the day by making their final EcoQuest journal entries.
